Auckland extension of Alert Level 3 lockdown announced
On Monday Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the extension of Alert Level 3 in Auckland to 11.59pm on Sunday 30th August 2020.
Auckland will then drop down to Alert Level 2. The rest of the country remains at Alert Level 2. Other changes announced include:
- From Monday 31 August, those using public transport, planes and rideshare services anywhere in the country will be required to wear masks by law while at alert Level 2 or higher.
- When Auckland moves to Level 2, gatherings will be restricted to 10 people, except for funerals where the cap will be 50.
- Gatherings will remain restricted to 100 people throughout the rest of the country.
